Condolences to Marion and Alison who have lost a beloved pet very recently and others – too many to mention I am afraid but my thoughts are with you.
New Year Tip -
Does you dog pull on the lead – I have a dog staying at the moment who does just this and I will probably advise the owener to change to a head collar rather than a standard collar. The former turns the dog’s head so you can may eye contact and you can then give the dog an order or command. Patience is the key here and praising when your dog follows the command ‘heel’ or whatever you want to use. You can stop walking when he pulls, or turn away from the excitement he can see ahead – he will soon get the message that in order to keep moving he needs to stop pulling! Always reward with a small treat when he gets the message.
